It is a book that has a great deal to say and which is destined to have a great deal said about it.Īfter a brief prologue, the story begins with a terrifying experience of the hero's high school days, moves quickly to the campus of a Southern Negro college and then to New York's Harlem, where most of the action takes place. It is a strange story, in which many extraordinary things happen, some of them shocking and brutal, some of them pitiful and touching-yet always with elements of comedy and irony and burlesque that appear in unexpected places. Not only did he stayed & helped her get home from the panic-date, but he made sur not to make a fuss about it, even going to joke about the situation. as for the first book, i’m absolutely on board with the respect the male MC has for their romantic partner. Kama’s character share my anxious mind, and we do see her having a full flung panic attack in the middle of a « set-up date ». I’m an absolute sucker for the « falling for them despite not wanting/can’t afford to » trope, and oh boy I was in for a treat as BOTH of them followed suit in it!! Nick is indeed told to be the most romantic of the brothers, and I do have a soft spot for the previous tome as I can’t get enough of Sophie’s french swearing in the middle of a full-english book □ But this book made me feel so good ❤️❤️īoth Dylan & Kama have a wonderful connection since the very start, despite her not quite being his standard, and both having ulterior motives. ![]() I feel like Dylan shine in a new light than what i’ve seen of him in « First In », the first tome in the 6-pack brothers serie. Even that seems a slight, because Fall into Darkness is so entertaining, so enthralling, perhaps the term classic shouldn’t be prefaced by the young adult label. Christopher Pike wrote this in 1990 and I have no qualms about calling this a young adult classic. ![]() ![]() This is so good it’s difficult to know where to begin.
